Santos extend Miguelito contract to May 2029 | OneFootball

Santos have extended Bolivian midfielder Miguelito's contract until 31 May 2029.

According to Globo.com, the new deal averts a free exit, with his previous agreement ending in April 2027 and a pre-contract possible in November. Talks had progressed in recent weeks with his representative.

He started for Bolivia in friendlies against Scotland on 6 and Algeria on 10, with La Verde losing both 4-0.

He started Santos's last four games before the World Cup pause, supplying two assists and scoring his first club goal. That rise followed coach Cuca's arrival, who used him as a playmaker.

Miguelito voiced pride in wearing the shirt, thanked the club for its care, and said he aims to repay that support on the pitch after renewing.

Born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, he joined via the Bolivia 2022 exchange. He signed his first professional deal in April 2022 at 18, and in 2024 was used sparingly under Fábio Carille but scored seven goals for Bolivia in World Cup qualifying. He spent last year on loan at América-MG, playing 25 times with seven goals and five assists.
