Santos have loaned forward Felipe Laurindo to Cianorte until the end of the season. He had been told he would not be used by head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda this year, so the move is to secure game time.
The player said in a post that he leaves grateful after almost 13 years at the club, detailing three ACL surgeries and the pain of not debuting for the first team, but that he departs with his head held high. He joined Santos at nine and is now 21.
His contract is valid until 30 November this year, so he could leave for free when it expires.
Born in 2005, Laurindo has just played the final Copa São Paulo of his youth career and has aged out of the academy, with the professional department opting for a loan. He returned to youth action last year after recovering from his third ACL injury.
He first ruptured his left ACL in May 2021 while with the Under-17s, weeks after signing his first professional deal. The same ligament went again in April 2022 during a 10-0 win over Mauá at CT Rei Pelé, when a meniscus issue was also repaired. The third rupture, in his right knee, came on 26 May 2024 in a 4-0 win over Mauá at Pedro Benedetti in the Paulista Sub-20.
