Santos rest after busy run as Neymar maintains home training | OneFootball

Santos gave the squad Monday off after seven straight days of work and two matches, while Neymar continued his training routine, according to Diario Do Peixe.

Their last break was on 11 January. The group are due back on 20 to begin preparations for the clássico against Corinthians on Thursday 23 at 19:30 at Vila Belmiro.

Neymar is recovering from surgery on the meniscus in his left knee. He has been alternating gym work at CT Rei Pelé with sessions at his home in a gated condominium in Santos.

On Monday he posted photos of exercises under the supervision of fitness coach Ricardo Rosa, with dressings still visible following an arthroscopy on the 22nd.

The club are handling his comeback cautiously. The internal expectation is for him to start physical transition in the final week of January, moving into the last phase of rehabilitation.

If progress continues as hoped, he could return in the opening weeks of February, with the second Brasileirão fixture, against São Paulo on four February, considered an optimistic possibility. Any decision will depend on his reaction to ball work and training loads.
