Santos sack Juan Pablo Vojvoda after 1-2 home loss to Internacional

Santos have dismissed head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda after a 1-2 home defeat by SC Internacional, despite a Neymar penalty.

The club said in a statement that the 50-year-old Argentine and members of his staff had departed following the match overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.

Vojvoda was appointed in late August 2025 and his reign lasted seven months. The former Fortaleza coach oversaw 310 matches there between 2021 and 2025.

Neymar converted from the spot against Internacional, but it marked Vojvoda’s 10th defeat in 34 games in charge.

He kept Santos FC in the top flight last season, but a return of 10 wins, 14 draws and 10 defeats was judged insufficient by the hierarchy.

Santos are 16th in the Brazilian league, only one point above the relegation zone.
