Santos’ women, the Sereias da Vila, played a training match against Taubaté at CT Rei Pelé on Friday 27 to stay sharp during a two-week gap. According to Diario Do Peixe, the clubs agreed not to release the score, though the outlet understands the hosts won by a wide margin.

The workout comprised three periods of 30 minutes. It was arranged to keep rhythm before their next competitive outing.

Head coach Caio Couto said the session was used to increase minutes for players who had featured less in the opening two matches, aiming to build match rhythm and confidence. He stressed the group has quality beyond the starting XI and that everyone needs to be ready to contribute.

He viewed the exercise as valuable, noting Taubaté share traits with upcoming opponents Mixto-MT, which allowed them to rehearse situations they might face next time out.

Santos return to competition on Saturday 14, when they meet Mixto-MT at 15:00 at Francisco Ribeiro Nogueira in Mogi das Cruzes. Couto said he expects to have his squad prepared to go in search of three points.
