Premier League football tips and predictions

15:00 - Burnley v Bournemouth: Back a four-fold acca at 7/1

Mark Stinchcombe: It's now 19 of their last 20 Premier League matches that Burnley have failed to win, including five defeats in their last seven. At Turf Moor it doesn't get any better with eight defeats in their last 12 games, including the infamous loss against League One Mansfield in the FA Cup.

It's an easy decision to oppose the home side and back visitors Bournemouth. After a sticky mid-season slump, Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last 10 games and are just eight points off fifth place. They've won five of eight games against the current bottom five and can add another one to the list at the price.

15:00 - Sunderland v Brighton: Back a foul frenzy

Mark O'Haire: Sunderland start MD30 outside the Premier League top-half on goal difference following their success at Leeds, and whilst the Wearsiders were humbled by Port Vale in the FA Cup last time out, Regis Le Bris' boys will be eager to get back to business when they welcome Brighton to the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Cats are reasonable outsiders here and look a touch underrated by the market. However, I'm happier digging into the player props, specifically the Player To Be Fouled market where Sunderland schemer Habib Diarra is a 2/1 shot to be felled at least three times - a big price considering it's banked in five of his last eight outings.

Occupying a central midfield position, the Senegalese star has made a big impression since his summer switch from Strasbourg and is bound to be amongst it against a Brighton side that rank third four fouls committed in the top-flight this term. The Seagulls are committing 13.00 misdemeanours per-game on their travels.

17:30 - Arsenal v Everton: Try 50/1 shock at nervy Emirates

Dave Tindall:  Arsenal are 4/11 to bank three more points and take a 10-point lead at the top before Manchester City (who have a game in hand) visit West Ham later in the day. The Draw is 15/4 while Everton are 17/2.

First thought: could Everton win this? Looking at the Toffees' seven away wins, they've come at Wolves, Man Utd, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Fulham and Newcastle.

It's often been a criticism of Moyes that he has a poor record against the elite. And yet this season Everton have won at the teams ranked third (Man Utd) and fourth (Aston Villa) while also taking all three points from another big ground, St James' Park.

And while Moyes has won just one of his 20 Premier League away games against Arsenal, that did come as recently as December 2023 when he took his West Ham side there and won 2-0. That was actually his last visit there. The 2-0 this time is 50/1 - a massive hike from the 14/1 for 1-0 - and, what the heck, it's worth a try.

17:30 - Chelsea v Newcastle: Rosenior's hot attack can blow Toon away

Lewis Jones: Of course the sample size is too small to be making any long-term sweeping statements about Chelsea but make no mistake, Rosenior has made a very smart start to life in west London.

The eye test does back up the numbers in terms of their attacking process, too. There was a spark and threat about them in their 5-2 defeat in Paris whilst their performance in their victory over Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago, to my eyes, was one of the most devastating attacking performances of the season.

Meanwhile, Newcastle's away form remains a big worry. They've only taken 13 points from their 14 away days in the Premier League this season - only three teams have posted fewer points. Bruno Guimaraes is still missing and there has to be a chance of Eddie Howe prioritising Wednesday's return leg in Barcelona with the scores locked at 1-1.

The strength of Chelsea's attacking process added to Newcastle potentially having more of an eye on Wednesday night, means there's a case to be made for backing the home team at the current odds.

20:00 - West Ham v Man City: Back City to edge it and Bowen to star at 13/2

Paul Higham: Since we've got the Betfair Bet £10 Get £10 offer on again for Bet Builders we best look at some of the best stats and player prop bets available. Jarrod Bowen remains West Ham's main man and any attacking joy will surely come through the skipper - who has a goal or assist in six of his last eight games. And with four goals and four assists in that spell his best bet is a goal or assist at 6/4.

Erling Haaland will be keen to prove a point after getting just 10 touches in the Bernabeu but at 4/6 to score anytime he's short enough and I think I'd rather back Antoine Semenyo at 7/5 anytime scorer as his seven goals in 14 appearances is some going for joining a new team in January.

There's also two standout stats bets that appeal, starting with West Ham to have over 4.5 corners at 7/5. The Hammers have had five corners in three of their past four Premier League games and Man City have conceded as many in their past two league aways.

Guardiola's men have picked up three bookings in their last four league away days, so backing Man City over 2.5 cards at 10/3 makes sense in this crucial game under the lights coming off the back of a big loss.

The stats double as worded above works out at around an 8/1 Bet Builder double. We require three legs to qualify for the offer though so what we usually do for Bet Builders like this is just take the totals down a notch for safer options, so we'll lower slightly the cards and corner tally and add Bowen to be involved in a goal again against this dodgy City rearguard.

EFL tips and predictions

Jack Critchley: Leicester have clambered out of the relegation zone, but they are far from safe. They are level on points with Oxford and will view this weekend's game as an ideal opportunity to collect another three points. The return of Jordan James is a fillip and he played a key role in their 2-0 victory over Bristol City on Tuesday night.

Gary Rowett's side are much harder to beat, better organised and are playing with far more desire since the change of coach. The talent within their squad has never been in doubt, and Abdul Fatawu is capable of winning games as an individual. Rowett rested Harry Winks, Patson Daka, Divine Mukasa and Ricardo Pereira in midweek and all four could return to the XI to freshen things up.

The Foxes have taken points off Ipswich and Middlesbrough recently and they are expected to sweep aside the out-of-form visitors.

QPR failed to take a shot during the first half of their 1-0 defeat to Birmingham. Across the 90 minutes, they registered an xG of 0.37 and appear to have given up. Julian Stephan has been hamstrung by injuries and the sight of Steve Cook leaving the field on Wednesday night did not make pleasant viewing. Across the last four games, they've conceded 12 times and have failed to find the back of the net.

15:00  L1- Doncaster v Blackpool: Back hosts in 5/1 third tier treble

There was certainly enough in the Doncaster performance in midweek in the previous mentioned 1-1 with Luton to keep me interested as they did look the likeliest team to score in the second-half judging on the reaction and reports from the game.

This is more about the frailties of Blackpool - who have won just once since late January and have conceded a massive 33 away from home with an away xA figure of almost 1.70.

The Tangerines have been sucked into the relegation battle and Ian Evatt was fuming on Wednesday losing 4-1 at Wimbledon. He said: "We just didn't give ourselves a chance in the game. We got the goal, we were in the ascendancy and it was us trying to push.

"Then, when we are trying to open the game up in the last few minutes, we concede another awful goal from a wayward pass.

"Confidence goes, everything else goes and we end up conceding a fourth." With a game on Wednesday, Blackpool's preparations with a day less and back on the road, while fairly local, is far from ideal."

European football tips and predictions

Kevin Hatchard: Wednesday's extraordinary 3-0 win over Manchester City featured a Real Madrid performance that few saw coming. Alvaro Arbeloa convinced his players to produce a display full of cohesion, effort and technical quality, and it ended up being by far Los Blancos' most effective and impressive showing of the entire season. They managed it without a host of key players including Kylian Mbappe, Eder Militao, Alvaro Carreras and Jude Bellingham.

Skipper Fede Valverde produced an individual performance for the ages, netting a stunning first-half hat-trick. He doubled his career tally of Champions League goals in under 45 minutes, and helped Trent Alexander-Arnold to lock down City winger Jeremy Doku.

Now Madrid turn their attention back to the La Liga title race, and Arbeloa's men are four points adrift of leaders Barcelona after last weekend's last-gasp victory over Celta Vigo at Balaidos. Madrid have won eight of their last nine competitive matches at the Bernabeu, and usefully for our purposes, five of those eight wins saw both teams score.

Elche made a strong start to the La Liga campaign, avoiding defeat in their first seven matches. However, they have since lost 11 of their 20 top-flight outings, and have tumbled down to fourth-bottom in the standings. Eder Sarabia's side are just a point above the dropzone.

I'll happily back  at 2.8 on the Betfair Exchange. Elche have scored in 11 of their last 12 La Liga matches, and they put two goals past Madrid in the reverse fixture. They also found the net in both of their league matches against Barcelona.
