Habib Diarra is attracting mounting Saudi Pro League interest ahead of the summer window. Media Foot reports a club has stepped up its pursuit and made him a priority target, with heavy spending possible.

The 22-year-old joined Sunderland from RC Strasbourg in July 2025 for around £30m, a club-record fee, after turning down interest from AC Milan and Atlético Madrid.

He made an immediate impact before a groin injury in September sidelined him for close to three months. Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, he has re-established himself under Régis Le Bris and started regularly in midfield.

The report says initial contact has taken place, although no formal bid has been lodged and the situation remains at an early stage.

Diarra is contracted until 2030, leaving Sunderland in a strong position should interest intensify. The club’s stance on a sale is unclear, but any move would likely require a significant offer.

He has impressed in the Premier League since his comeback, featuring in 14 matches and scoring against Burnley and Leeds United.
