Saúl sends message to Flamengo fans during heel injury rehabilitation | OneFootball

Saúl has missed Flamengo’s pre-season while recovering from a heel injury, and has addressed supporters on social media.

The player said in a post that he underwent surgery two weeks ago and is now in rehabilitation, training gradually and following medical advice. He added that he hopes to return to the pitch very soon, will be back in Brazil soon, and thanked fans for their messages.

He began experiencing heel pain in the run-in to the 2025 season. Even so, the midfielder chose conservative treatment to feature in decisive Libertadores and Brasileirão matches.

After the season, he and Flamengo’s medical department agreed on heel surgery, which was performed in Spain. He has since started his recovery work to return to action.

Flamengo now turn to the derby with Fluminense on Sunday 25 in the fourth round of the Campeonato Carioca. Kick-off is 18:00 Brasília time, with coverage on Premiere’s pay-per-view service.
