According to BuLi News, Schalke are monitoring Benfica forward Jelani Dumas as they look to strengthen their attack for their Bundesliga return.
Head coach Miron Muslic is pushing the newly promoted club to recruit a regular goalscorer.
The Belgian youngster reportedly wants to leave this summer, with Schalke among the interested clubs. The Gelsenkirchen side have contacted his representatives, while teams in France and Italy are also tracking him.
Dumas joined Benfica’s academy from KAA Gent in 2021 and has progressed through the youth ranks since the under-17s.
He made 31 appearances for Benfica’s reserves last season across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing one assist. A nominal centre forward who has also played on the wing, he is under contract until 2027.
