Celtic defenders Kieran Tierney and Anthony Ralston have both earned places in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the upcoming international fixtures against Japan and Ivory Coast…

The Hoops duo are well established at international level. Tierney celebrated his 50th appearance for Scotland earlier this year, while Ralston is approaching a personal milestone as he nears his 25th cap for the national side.

In midfield, Ryan Christie retains his place after continuing his impressive form with Bournemouth. The playmaker moved to the Premier League club from Celtic in 2021 and has remained a regular part of Clarke’s plans.

Scotland will welcome Japan to Hampden Park on Saturday, March 28. Clarke’s side will then travel south to Liverpool, where they face Ivory Coast at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium three days later.

Elsewhere, Sebastian Tounekti has revealed he travelled to Stockholm during a short break in the schedule to unwind before the intense closing stretch of the season.

The Tunisia international joined the Scottish champions from Hammarby in a £5 million move earlier this season and has featured in the starting line-up in Celtic’s last three matches. However, he was substituted at the interval during the weekend victory over Motherwell.

Tounekti took advantage of the downtime by returning to his former club, where he watched Hammarby take on local rivals Djurgarden in the Swedish Cup.

The visit proved memorable as his former teammates secured victory in dramatic fashion, scoring a stoppage-time goal to seal the win in the Stockholm derby.

Tounekti and his Celtic teammates return to Lennoxtown on Wednesday to prepare for Sunday’s trip to Tannadice.
