Sean Dyche believes allowing summer signing Arnaud Kalimuendo to leave on loan is a very good deal for Nottingham Forest, with the 23-year-old expected to join Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to Nottingham Post, reports in Germany suggest Forest will receive a €1.5m loan fee and that the agreement will include a €27m option to buy, with the move potentially finalised today.
Kalimuendo’s exit would leave Forest light up front, with Chris Wood sidelined and uncertainty around Taiwo Awoniyi’s future. Dyche said the club are already pursuing additions.
He noted that Evangelos Marinakis will back recruitment, yet stressed arrivals must be the right players at the right time. Dyche has also signalled a relatively slow window after more than £180m spent on 13 summer signings.
With Wood out following knee surgery, a striker is now the priority. Dyche cautioned nothing is done until contracts are signed but said talks over potential replacements are underway.
The head coach added that he and his staff have held regular meetings with Forest’s scouting and analysis units about targets over the past couple of months.
