Seko Fofana ‘linked with’ FC Porto, no move unless a midfielder leaves

FC Porto are not planning to sign a midfielder this winter and would only revisit the idea if a midfielder leaves in the coming days.

Ouest France reported that Rennes midfielder Seko Fofana has been linked to Porto and Benfica.

The 30-year-old has been offered to several clubs, including Porto, but the club do not intend to pursue a deal at this stage.

Last January, Nico González and Galeno moved in the final days of the window. A similar late departure now could push André Villas-Boas to seek cover, otherwise the midfield group will remain unchanged.

Fofana represented Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations. He is under contract at Rennes until June 2029 and has 1 goal in 12 appearances this season.
