Sereias da Vila take break and return in July after Copa do Brasil exit | OneFootball

Sereias da Vila are taking more than a week off and are due to report back to CT Rei Pelé on eight June, with matches to resume in July, according to Diario Do Peixe.

They ended the first half of the year below expectations after a Copa do Brasil exit to Atlético Piauiense, losing on penalties in their first match of the third phase.

Santos have already changed head coach, a move that has yet to take effect. Marcelo Frigerio, known as Tchelo, now has more than a month to work with the squad.

They are 12th in the Brasileirão Feminino on 14 points, with three wins, five draws and four defeats, scoring 12 and conceding 15.

Only the top eight advance to the knockout stage, and five rounds remain to chase a place. The next league game is scheduled against América-MG on 25 July, with exact details to be set by the CBF.

The Brasileiro and the Paulistão are the remaining fronts. In the state competition they have played three rounds, sit sixth with two points, and have drawn two and lost one, scoring three and conceding four. The next Paulistão match is pencilled in for 17 July against Taubaté, pending FPF confirmation.
