He did everything he could to force his transfer to Inter Milan, but in vain. Ademola Lookman remains an Atalanta Bergamo player.

The 27-year-old forward now finds himself in a difficult position after skipping training sessions and locking horns with club management, who refused to let him leave for Inter Milan.

Despite being on the verge of joining the Lombard side, negotiations ultimately broke down between the two parties, and the player remains tied to the Bergamo club until June 2027.

According to reports from Eco di Bergamo, the Nigerian international (29 caps, 8 goals) is expected to return to training on Thursday or Friday, after taking part in the Super Eagles' match against South Africa (1-1).

With no other options, the former RB Leipzig man will have to make amends to rejoin the squad after a month-long training boycott.

The London-born attacker could make his comeback when the Nerazzurri travel to Torino on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
