Milan battled hard against a strong Roma side to Serie A | Roma 1-1 Milan: Stoic Pellegrini freezes De Winter celebration in the Italian capital, with Koni De Winter scoring the opening goal before Lorenzo Pellegrini equalised from the penalty spot.
Football Italia’s Player of the Match was Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who despite not keeping a clean sheet, was responsible for Roma not running away with the match.
There were also strong performances from Koni De Winter, Luka Modrić and Zeki Celik
Roma: Svilar 6; Mancini 6.5, N’Dicka 5.5, Ghilardi 6.5; Celik 7, Cristante 6, Kone 6 (Pisilli 6), Wesley 5.5; Soule 5.5, Dybala 6 (Pellegrini 7), Malen 5.5 (Vaz 6)
Best Roma player: Zeki Celik – The wing-back was impressive tonight both offensively and defensively. He did not give the likes of Rafael Leao or Davide Bartesaghi much room to breathe down the flank and protected Mancini on the right-hand side of defence. Helped win the penalty to give Roma their equaliser.

Lowest Roma rating: Donyell Malen – After an impressive debut, the Dutchman was brought back down to earth tonight. Was extremely wasteful, having seven shots without finding the back of the net, and equally not doing much to open up chances for his teammates. A little on the selfish side, must do better in big games.
Coach: Gian Piero Gasperini 7 – Bit of a weird one for the Roma coach, who initially set up his team very well. Roma gave Milan little sniff of the game within the first hour and Gasperini’s set-up dominated, yet were unable to convert their chances – which, in fairness, is no fault of the coach.
Milan: Maignan 7; Tomori 6.5, Gabbia 6, De Winter 7; Saelemaekers 5.5 (Athekame 6), Ricci 6.5 (Loftus-Cheek N/A), Modric 7, Rabiot 6.5, Bartesaghi 5.5; Nkunku 5.5 (Pulisic 6), Leao 5 (Fullkrug 6)
Best Milan player: Mike Maignan – Had to be at his best tonight to withstand the Roma barrage and he, largely, did just that. Made a handful of truly superb saves in the first half to keep the deadlock intact but cannot be expected to save every single penalty he faces.

Lowest Milan rating: Rafael Leao – Maybe Leao gets judged harshly but he is, after all, supposed to be the Rossoneri’s main man. However, did not have very much involvement tonight before Allegri opted to switch from Nkunku and Leao to Pulisic and Fullkrug in attack. Disappointing hour of football for the Portuguese.
Coach: Massimiliano Allegri 7 – Was very nearly a classic Allegri masterclass before Roma’s equaliser from the spot. Allegri’s defensive nous and big game tactics denied the Giallorossi the three points, although it is fair to say his substitutions did enough to turn the game on its head.
