Napoli are still sitting pretty at the top of the Serie A table after the conclusion of the 21st round of 2024-25 fixtures, but Inter are three points off with a game in hand while Juventus and Lazio also picked up important wins over the weekend.
Napoli remained top of the table thanks to Saturday’s impressive 3-2 victory away against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta, who currently sit in third place.
Reigning champions Inter made sure that the pressure is still on Antonio Conte’s side with a 3-1 victory against Empoli, which leaves them three points shy of the Partenopei having played one game fewer at this stage.
Atalanta, who lost for the first time since their defeat by Real Madrid in the Champions League in December, remain in third place.
Lazio complete the current top four after an important 3-0 victory away against Hellas Verona.
Juventus, who got their revenge on Milan with a 2-0 win following their defeat in the Supercoppa Italiana 10 days ago, sit two points outside the Champions League positions in fifth place.
The Rossoneri, meanwhile, are down in eight place, eight points away from the top four and 19 off the league leaders, albeit with a game in hand on most of the division.
