SERIE A WOMEN, SASSUOLO v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

AC Milan are preparing to face Sassuolo on Matchday 18 of Serie A Women. Kick off is at 18:00 CEST on April 3 at the E. Ricci Stadium in Sassuolo. Coach Bakker's Rossonere are searching for a positive result against Colantuono's side. LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL The Rossonere are enjoying a fairly good run of form and come off a 0-0 draw at home to Como, which was a bittersweet result because Como had gone down to 10 players in the second half. AC Milan kept pushing but were unable to break down Como's defence, and even risked a late setback. Eighth place is far from satisfactory, although a Champions League qualification spot is still within reach, just four points away. Last time out, Bakker's side let go of a two-goal lead and were held back right at the end. This is something to keep in mind to improve focus and game management. The squad is almost at full strength, with Zanini unavailable and Mascarello one booking away from suspension.

LATEST FROM SASSUOLO The Neroverdi are going through a tough spell as they have not won since the start of February. After winning 1-0 against Parma, they faced three defeats (Inter, Fiorentina and Como) and drew 1-1 against Terni before the break, Missipo's opener was not enough. They sit in tenth place, four points clear of the relegation zone, with limited room to climb the table. One of the main issues concerns their attack, which often struggles to convert chances, despite Clelland’s contribution of four goals and three assists, and she also scored in the reverse fixture.

AC Milan are unbeaten in 12 of their 14 previous Serie A meetings with Sassuolo (7 wins, 5 draws); with the only exceptions a 0-1 on 10 February 2024 and a 0-2 on 25 September 2021.
