Benjamin Sesko and Xavi Simons have been omitted from the RB Leipzig squad for their latest pre-season friendly amid transfer links with Premier League clubs.
The German outfit are hosting Serie A side Atalanta at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday afternoon, with kick off set for 2pm BST.
Neither player will feature in the game despite being fully fit as speculation over their futures continues to swirl.
Sky Sport Germany report that the pair are not injured, but have been left out of the matchday squad for “transfer reasons”.
Sesko has been heavily linked with both Manchester United and Newcastle United this summer as both clubs look to bolster their attacking options.
The Red Devils were said to be leading the race for his signature on Friday, but Newcastle reportedly submitted a formal bid for the striker on Saturday morning.
It is claimed that the offer amounts to €75m (£65.5m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons, matching Leipzig’s valuation of Sesko.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been in talks with Leipzig over a deal for Xavi Simons over the past week, with negotiations said to be at an “advanced stage”.
The Blues have already spent well over £200m on new signings this summer, but the Dutch midfielder looks set to be their eighth addition following the sale of Joao Felix to Al-Nassr.
Leipzig reportedly want £61.2m for Simons, who only joined the club on a permanent basis from PSG in January. Bayern Munich and Arsenal are also said to be interested in acquiring the 22-year-old, who wishes to leave Leipzig following last season’s failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
