Former Blue Shaun Wright-Phillips has backed Jamie Gittens to shine at Chelsea if he completes a move to the club this summer.
Chelsea are once again set to be busy this summer and have already made Liam Delap their first summer signing after a deal worth £30m was agreed with Ipswich.
More new faces are expected to follow Delap through the door at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues are looking to sign a versatile forward, left winger and centre back.
With Delap through the door the most urgent priority is signing a left winger given the lack of options in that position.
Chelsea’s only wingers at the Club World Cup are Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke and Tyrique George, following the departure of Jadon Sancho.
The Blues have identified Gittens as their priority target on the left and had an offer worth €55m rejected before the Club World Cup.

Dortmund are thought to want €65m for Gittens who scored 12 goals in all competitions last season, including four in the Champions League.
Gittens is said to only want to join Chelsea, and Wright-Phillips has backed the England under-21 international to be a success if he completes a move to Stamford Bridge.
“He’s got ability and pace, and he’s set up to be a success,” he said at cited on X.com.
“I think the thing that would establish him ahead of the competition is if he can be consistent. I think Enzo Maresca is an incredible manager to work with, and if he works hard, as he always seems to, then his talent will shine at Chelsea.”
Whist Gittens is the main priority Chelsea are exploring alternatives incase a deal can’t be agreed for the 20-year-old.
