Sevilla are on the hunt for their sixth manager in less than two years, having announced on Saturday that Quique Sanchez Flores will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Quique took over from Diego Alonso in December, and despite a poor start, has successfully guided Sevilla away from the relegation battle in recent months. Despite this, both parties have agreed that it is best for them to move in different directions, meaning that Quique’s final two matches in charge will be against Athletic Club and Barcelona.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco spoke of the decision for Quique to leave at the end of the season, as per MD.

“Yesterday I spoke with Quique and we agreed that he was going to announce in this press conference that he will be coach until June 30, and that next season he will not continue in charge.

“There have been times when even the most optimistic have doubted him. We thank him for the magnificent work he has done.”

Sevilla have already begun their search to replace Quique, and recent reports have stated that current Las Palmas manager Garcia Pimienta is the favourite to take the hot seat at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
