Hearts beat St Mirren 2-0 at Tynecastle Park to stay top of the Scottish Premiership, overcoming an early red card as Lawrence Shankland and Tómas Magnússon scored after the break.
Beni Baningime was sent off in the 15th minute, but the hosts stayed compact and waited for their moment.
Lawrence Shankland broke the deadlock from Blair Spittal's pass (60.), moving to 11 league goals and top of the Scottish Premiership scoring chart.
Substitute Tómas Magnússon sealed it with a composed finish (80.).
St Mirren had plenty of the ball but produced only two shots on target from 14 attempts. Hearts, down to 10 men, mustered seven efforts on target from the same number of attempts.
The Jambos host Falkirk in the Scottish Cup next. St Mirren visit Livingston in the Scottish Cup.
