Khadija Bunny Shaw was delighted to not only score a record-breaking hat-trick but also contribute to a 5-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
Shaw’s goals not only set City on our way to an important win, but also created a new record for both the earliest and quickest hat-trick in WSL history.
There were just 12 minutes and 37 seconds between the Jamaican’s first and third strike, and she completed her hat trick in just 21 minutes of the game.
But Andree Jeglertz was also quick to praise Shaw on her defensive efforts against a strong Spurs side.
In a post-match interview, Bunny said it was a “wonderful feeling” to not only grab the hat-trick but also help City secure the win.
Shaw said: “The most important thing for me was the win, because that puts us closer to the title.
“So, I think getting the win and getting the quickest hat-trick [in WSL history] is a wonderful feeling.”
