Manchester City staged a dramatic late Khadija Shaw-inspired comeback to book their place in the FA Cup final against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Citizens already had the Women's Super League title wrapped up and it looked for a while like Chelsea would be getting some revenge in the cup.
Indeed, the home side took the lead with just eight minutes gone in the game as Erin Cuthbert fired low past Khiara Keating.
It should have been 2-0 a minute later when Sam Kerr found the net but the ball was judged to have been out of play when Alyssa Thompson put the ball in. However, it looked like the ball had stayed in and had VAR been available a goal may well have been given.
Kerr did eventually get her goal with just under an hour gone in the game after a mistake from Keating as she fumbled Lauren James' cross allowing the Australian to take full advantage.
City are champions for a reason though and fought back, first pulling a goal back in the 86th minute as substitute Mary Fowler scored with her first touch.
Then with the game in stoppage time Bunny Shaw, who is reportedly set to join Chelsea next season, fired past Hannah Hampton.
The game went to extra-time when Shaw popped up once again to provide what would turn out to be the winner as Shaw headed in Lauren Hemp's cross to make it 3-2. If the Jamaican has not already agreed a Chelsea deal then she could probably up her demands after those decisive moments.
Andrée Jeglertz's team managed to hold on and will be favourites to lift the cup when they face Brighton in the final at Wembley.
