Shea Charles is developing a taste for the spectacular, with three Southampton goals this season capped by a stunning strike.
As reported by Sainstmarching.com, each effort has been different, and the Northern Ireland midfielder has returned strongly after a long injury lay-off.
At St Mary's today, he met Cameron Archer's long pass with a first-time hit from around 35 yards, the ball initially arcing wide before whipping back towards goal. Oxford United keeper Jamie Cumming leapt left but could not get near it.
It kissed the junction of bar and post and St Mary's erupted, Charles and team-mates racing to the Chapel Stand to celebrate.
There was late drama against Leicester too. Having hauled themselves level from 3-0 down at half-time, Charles curled a left-footer into the top corner from Ross Stewart's lay-off as the clock ticked down, extending Southampton's unbeaten Championship run to five matches.
His first for the club came at Anfield in the Carabao Cup, an equaliser in the 76th minute after Léo Scienza had missed a sitter and Alexander Isak had put Liverpool ahead. Hopes of an upset faded when Hugo Ekitiké struck the winner with five minutes left.
