Sheffield United have been linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Amario Cozier-Duberry ahead of the January window, who has torn up League One with Bolton Wanderers under Steven Schumacher so far this season.

According to The Yorkshire Post, Sheffield United have been linked with a move for current Bolton loanee Cozier-Duberry this January, but face stiff competition from numerous other clubs in the Championship, including the likes of Preston North End, Bristol City, and West Brom for his signature.

The Arsenal academy graduate has been on fire since his loan move to the third tier this season, having spent last season on loan at Ewood Park with Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, where he scored just once without assisting in very limited minutes during his time in Lancashire.

Now under Steven Schumacher at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, Cozier-Duberry has been electric playing off the right flank for the Trotters this season, drawing interest from numerous teams in the Championship, who are looking to bring him back to the second tier this January.

Sheffield United are seemingly one of those teams, and with Blades head coach Chris Wilder not having had the pleasure of a transfer window this season, having been dismissed at the end of last campaign, he will be keen to delve into the market this winter, with the Brighton loanee expected to be on his radar.

Sheffield United should sanction a move for 'ideal' Amario Cozier-Duberry

Football League World's Sheffield United fan pundit, Jimmy, has shared their views on whether the Blades should make a move for Cozier-Duberry this January window.

Jimmy said, "Yes, yes, yes, please. Cozier-Duberry is ideal for what we need.

"I think we need competition on the wings, just to keep everybody sharp and add that depth that we'll lose in Louis Barry.

"He's ripping it up at League One level, he's somebody that a lot of Blades have mentioned in terms of wanting to have a January target.

"Whether his parent club will want to recall him and send him out. Whether Brighton will want to recall him and send him out is another question, because he's playing regularly, and he's playing well at the level.

"But if they want to accelerate his development, then playing in a side that's looking to climb the championship would surely do him well, let's say.

"I'm all over it, yeah. Bring."

Having lost out in the play-off final at the end of last season to Sunderland, with a late Tom Watson goal breaking Blades hearts and piling more play-off misery upon the club, Wilder was dismissed from his duties and replaced by former Reading and Hull City boss Ruben Selles.

However, after just six games, Selles too was dismissed, losing every game he was in charge of during his brief stay at Bramall Lane, and Wilder was swiftly brought back, but did not have the luxury of a transfer window at his disposal, and has had to make do with what he has been provided.

Now in his third separate stint with the club, Wilder will have one eye on the play-off picture this season, having found better form of late to climb some way out of the immediate danger they had previously found themselves in.

January reinforcements will be a high priority for Wilder, as he looks to stamp his authority back on the Blades squad, having already made the free additions of Patrick Bamford and Jairo Riedewald.

With Louie Barry expected to return to Aston Villa this winter after his loan spell with the Blades has simply not worked out, this leaves a vacant loan spot in the attack, something Wilder may be eyeing Cozier-Duberry for.

Tahith Chong has returned to the squad lately, and assisted Danny Ings' goal against Norwich City, but his fitness woes have left a gap in the squad, and with Cozier-Duberry best when deployed from the right, where he can cut in on his left foot, he may prove to be the perfect Christmas present for Wilder this winter.
