According to reports, West Ham United are admirers of Sheffield United star Harrison Burrows
Sheffield United have lost a number of prized assets throughout this summer's turbulent transfer window after falling to defeat in last season's play-off final against Sunderland and may now be sweating over the immediate future of Harrison Burrows, who has reportedly received admiring glances from West Ham United.
As mentioned in a report published on Sunday afternoon by The Sun, Burrows is being tracked by the Premier League outfit a year on from his arrival at Bramall Lane, which came in a reported £6 million switch from Peterborough United of League One just last summer.
It has been a difficult summer for the Blades, with the club's activity in the transfer market leaving supporters dissatisfied. Both Anel Ahmedhodzic and Vini Souza have departed along with the likes of Rhian Brewster and Kieffer Moore, although Ruben Selles' side are now amplifying activity with less than a week to spare in the summer window.
United's double defensive capture of Ben Godfrey and Nils Zatterstrom took the club's incomings count up to seven after completing moves for Louie Barry, Tyler Bindon, Mihaul Polendakov, Djibril Soumare and Ehije Ukaki, while Japhet Tanganga is also set to arrive from Championship rivals Millwall.
Frustrations among the Bramall Lane faithful have been heightened by a nightmareish start to the season under new boss Selles, who has lost each of his opening four competitive games in charge as United sit rooted to the foot of the Championship table ahead of this weekend's trip to high-flying Middlesbrough.
As per the aforementioned report, West Ham are described as "one of the clubs" to have been "keenly" tracking Burrows' progression in the Steel City.
This update would, of course, imply that a number of clubs have cast their eyes upon the attack-minded left-back, which will doubtless leave Sheffield United concerned in the final week of the window.
Burrows enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with United after joining from Peterborough, posting six goals and six assists apiece from 46 appearances while operating in defence.
The 23-year-old was especially impactful in the play-offs, where he scored once and assisted on three occasions across two legs against Bristol City before finding the back of the net in the play-off final - only to see his impressive strike from range contentiously ruled out by offside, which, if awarded, would have fired the side into a commanding 2-0 lead over Sunderland.

Instead, his future in Yorkshire could potentially hang in the balance, although the promotion hopefuls do have a sense of security given that he remains under contract until the summer of 2028.
While it's no great surprise to see Burrows attracting attention from the top-flight, Sheffield United simply must resist a sale at all costs if they intend on achieving promotion back to the Premier League at the second attempt.
Burrows is arguably the most gifted full-back in the Championship and, while defensively sound, offers an unparalleled attacking outlet.
At 23, he's only likely to get better and better after instantly adapting to life in the second-tier last time out and it would be a huge blow for the Blades to lose his services this late into the window, where they would surely struggle to adequately replace him with such little time remaining.
