Shock Kickoff: Pyramids FC to Open 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup

FIFA's officially announced the match schedule for the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental cup.

Tournament Kickoff

The competition begins on Sunday 14 September 2025 with Pyramids FC, winners of the 2024 /25 CAF Champions league hosting Auckland City FC, OFC Champions league champions at 30 Jun Stadium in Cairo at 18:00 GMT.

The winner of this match will advance to face Al Ahli FC, 2024 /25 AFC Champions league winners at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah on Tuesday 23 September 2025 competing for the FIFA African Asian Pacific cup and spot in the next stage.

December Clashes

The tournament continues in December with the FIFA Derby of the Americas on 10 Dec , featuring Cruz Azul (Concacaf Champions cup winners) against the eventual Copa Libertadores 2025 champion to be confirmed on 29 Nov.

The winners of the African Asian Pacific cup & the Americas Derby will meet on 13 Dec for the FIFA Challenger cup with the victor earning place in the Intercontinental cup Final against Paris Saint Germain, UEFA Champions league 2024 /25 winners on 17 December 2025.
