Raul Jimenez drew the loudest ovation of the afternoon on his return to Molineux as Wolves faced Fulham in their final home match of the season, the club’s last Premier League outing before a drop into the Championship.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, supporters also unveiled a new anti-Fosun banner ahead of kick-off.
The Mexico striker came on midway through the second half and was greeted rapturously from all four sides of the ground. Fans broke into ‘Si Senor’, the chant coined for him when he first signed.
Jimenez scored 57 goals in 166 games during Wolves’ eight-year stay in the Premier League. Initially on loan, he made an instant impact before a £30m move, and he helped establish the club in the top flight and reach the Europa League quarter-finals.
He suffered a fractured skull in 2020 in a clash at Arsenal, then departed in 2023 to join Fulham in a £5.5m deal. He has been back to Molineux several times, but this reception felt especially warm on an emotional afternoon.
His appearance followed a social media post by his wife featuring a photograph of Wolverhampton earlier in the weekend. Supporters have been speculating in recent weeks about the prospect of Wolves making an ambitious summer move to re-sign him.
