RB Leipzig will do everything in their power to keep Yan Diomande for at least another season amid growing interest in the starlet.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Philipp Hinze, Leipzig are conceding it’ll be ‘extremely difficult’ to retain their coveted attacker beyond the summer window.

Yan Diomande: The state of play

Behind the scenes, the German outfit are trying to persuade Diomande to rebuff outside interest and stay put for 2026/2027, having only joined the club last July.

They will also look to try and deter suitors by setting his price tag at €100 million (£87.1m), albeit this wouldn’t be too much of an issue for some Premier League sides.

Manchester United, for example, are firmly in the race for Diomande after sending scouts to watch him in action on numerous occasions this campaign.

The Red Devils’ financial situation is poised to look pretty healthy come the end of the season if they secure Champions League qualification, while they will be facilitating the exits of Marcus Rashford to Barcelona for £26m, and Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli for £38m.

How Diomande is getting on during first Leipzig season

In regard to how Diomande is faring in his maiden Bundesliga term, he has returned a hugely impressive 10 goals and seven assists in 26 appearances and just 1,878 minutes of action.

One Red Bull representative previously told Flashscore that the 19-year-old is ‘the most gifted player within our system since Erling Haaland.’

The teenager is also now an established Ivory Coast international, where he’s notched three goals in his first nine caps.
