Selling Joao Felix will allow Chelsea to accelerate their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons according to Sky Sports.

The Blues have been busy this summer and have already signed Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, with more new faces expected to follow.

Chelsea are currently in negotiations for Dutch duo Simons and Jorrel Hato, with both deals believed to be progressing well.

Selling Felix will accelerate Chelsea pursuit of Simons

The Blues are said to be in advanced negotiations with Leipzig for Simons, and the 22-year-old has reportedly said yes to joining Chelsea.

Chelsea are thought to be close to agreeing personal terms with Simons, despite Arsenal and Bayern Munich lurking in the background.

Leipzig are thought to want a total package of around £60m for Simons, who played against Toulouse on Saturday in pre-season.

Chelsea are said to be the most likely destination for Simons, and Sky Sports have reported selling Felix will allow the Blues to accelerate their pursuit of the Dutch international.

Simons can play both on the left and as a number ten, making him a great fit for Enzo Maresca’s system, and he scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances in all competitions last season.

Felix closing in on move to Al-Nassr

Felix is set to be the next player to leave after Noni Madueke, Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the 25-year-old close to joining Saudi side Al-Nassr.

It was thought Felix would return to Benfica, and the Portuguese giants were believed to be in negotiations with Chelsea.

However, Al-Nassr have hijacked the deal for Felix, and he’s thought to have said yes to their proposal, with Chelsea set to receive a total package of around £48m.

The Blues could somehow be in line to make a profit on the £45m they paid last summer, taking into account the loan fee they received from AC Milan in January.
