Inter Milan have failed to defend their Serie A title from last season.

The Nerazzurri fell short on the final day against Napoli.

Inter did win their final match of the season against Como. But it was too little too late from the Nerazzurri.

Over the course of the season, Napoli edged out an advantage. And even when they surrendered it in the spring, Inter conceded it right back.

As Tuttosport note, some of the costliest results for Inter Milan have come in matches where they have had the lead.

Last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Lazio just about summed it up for the Nerazzurri.

That is not the only match that Inter have drawn by that scoreline, though.

It was the same thing in draws away to the likes of Genoa and Parma. And a match against Bologna at home. All matches where Inter had led.

Then, there was Inter’s wild 4-4 draw against Juventus in the autumn. Considering that they had a two-goal advantage in the closing stages, that was a hammer blow for the Nerazzurri.

Inter can also point to their 1-1 draw with Napoli in March.

In total, Inter have dropped a whopping twelve points in matches where they’ve had the lead.
