After a nearly perfect 2025–26 season, expectations for FC Bayern heading into the upcoming season are sky-high. A recent survey now shows that many fans even believe the German record champions are capable of a historic Bundesliga season with a new points record.

FC Bayern dominated the past Bundesliga season at will. The Munich team suffered only one loss, set a new goal-scoring record, and secured not only the league title but also the DFB Cup and the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup.

Consequently, confidence in Vincent Kompany’s team is high. According to a survey conducted by the ONE8Y Institute, 44 percent of respondents believe a new Bundesliga points record by FC Bayern is realistic. Only 32 percent expect another club to become German champion.

Heynckes’ Bayern remains the benchmark

The current Bundesliga record dates back to the 2012–13 season. Under Jupp Heynckes, FC Bayern earned 91 points that season and later became the first Bayern team in club history to win the treble of the league title, the DFB Cup, and the Champions League.

To surpass this record, Munich would need to earn at least 92 points in the upcoming season. That would require, for example, 29 wins and five draws—an extraordinary level of consistency throughout the entire season.

Bayern feels well-prepared

The club’s leadership at Säbener Straße has strategically strengthened the roster without deviating from their established course. With Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, two versatile players sought out by Vincent Kompany have joined the team. At the same time, the record champions continue to rely on a deliberately small professional roster, supplemented by talented young players.

In addition, FC Bayern should once again be able to count on several key players in the new season who have repeatedly been sidelined by injuries recently. Jamal Musiala, in particular, is expected to resume a leading role after his long layoff and bring additional quality to the offense.

Whether Munich can actually challenge the points record will depend largely on whether they are once again spared major injury concerns and can maintain the impressive consistency they showed last season. However, the fact that many fans believe they are capable of another historic season shows just how much confidence has grown in the current team and in Vincent Kompany’s work.
