Manchester United’s former midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has teamed up with one of his old Red Devil teammates.
The Moroccan joined United on loan in the summer of 2023 from Italian side Fiorentina.
He found consistent game time at the club difficult, playing just 30 times in the entire season.
In fact, he barely played between January and April but he did make a return to the starting line up in May.
As a result, he started in the FA Cup final victory versus Manchester City and put in an impressive display with Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park.
Despite his promising performance in the cup final, the club decided not to make his loan deal permanent and he returned to Florence.
The manager at the time, Erik ten Hag, was keen to keep the defensive midfielder but the club instead decided to pursue a deal for Manuel Ugarte.
The Moroccan completed another loan move to Turkey last summer to Fenerbahce, playing 39 times and scoring two goals.
Amrabat completed his move to the Turkish giants on a permanent deal earlier this summer but they have surprisingly decided to send him on loan.
United officially sold Amrabat’s former United teammate Antony to Real Betis yesterday for €25 million.
Now, on their official website the Spanish club have announced “Real Betis Balompié and Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement for the loan of Sofyan Amrabat until the end of the current season.”
The Moroccan international is in line to make his debut for los Verdiblancos Heliopolitanos away to Levante on Sunday 14th September.
