Solly March is back in contention for Brighton and might be included for Saturday’s visit to Brentford.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said the 31-year-old trained fully with the squad this week, made a good impression and could be an option, while stressing the need for patience as he rebuilds. As reported by NY Times, he framed the process as small steps as March readjusts to Premier League demands. He added that, in his view, March had been among the league’s best before his injury and the goal is to return him to that level.

Knee problems have limited March to 20 appearances across two and a half seasons.

He featured 10 times in 2024-25 before being ruled out from April onwards.

In 2023-24 he also made 10 appearances before a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament at Manchester City in October 2023 kept him out for 14 months.

Yasin Ayari remains sidelined with shoulder damage. Brighton sit 14th, seven points above the relegation zone, after one win in 13 league matches.
