An exclusive from TeamTalk today claims that United have “£50million in the market but sources at Chelsea have told TEAMtalk they expect to land him for significantly less.”

The Argentine has made it clear that he will go nowhere other than Stamford Bridge, which has massive effect on depressing his price. Man U can’t shop him around, and Chelsea have made it clear that something like £30m is all they’re willing to pay.

Having spent big on their attacking line, United know they need to bring money in, and Garnacho is one of their few potentially lucrative assets. However they’re not going to get anything like they were hoping for for him because he’s preventing any sort of bidding war from taking place.

What comes next we’re not quite sure. United are the ones who really need this deal to go through, so one can expect them to be the ones pushing.

Chelsea can sit tight. They could happily go into the season with just their current attacking options and be fine, Garnacho is very much a bonus and a market opportunity. The Blues don’t want him at £50m or anything close to that, and the sooner United accept that the better for them.
