Southampton youngster Watts signs first professional deal | OneFootball

Southampton youngster Isabel Watts has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The Saints announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

The 18-year-old versatile full-back is a product of Southampton’s highly-regarded youth system. Despite being in the early years of her career, Watts has found herself on the fringes of the senior squad and she has already had the opportunity to briefly get some first team playing experience under her belt.

Watts is an exciting prospect for the future and she will continue her development in Barclays WSL2 with Southampton after signing professional terms with the club.

After signing on at St Mary’s Stadium as a full-time professional player, Watts said “It’s a special moment and a dream come true for me and my family.

“I’ve seen other players come through and do it and it’s my time now. Coming up to train with the first team has given me a taste of senior football and what I want to get into and I can’t wait to get started.”

Watts will continue to work with the first team during their pre-season programme with a view to pushing for playing opportunities when the new season gets underway.
