Player ratings

Unai Simon – 6

Had almost nothing to do.

Pedro Porro – 8

The Tottenham Hotspur defender was a dangerous outlet throughout his 75 minutes on the pitch, as he created numerous chances and also scored a goal of his own, but was denied by the post.

Robin Le Normand – 7.5

Solid, had little defending to do but won his duels. He also got the assist for Spain’s first goal of the evening.

Pau Cubarsi – 7

Same as Le Normand, although not as solid at times.

Marc Cucurella – 7.5

Very good performance in both attack and defence.

Martin Zubimendi – 7.5

Excellent from Zubimendi, who continues to show that Rodri’s absence is not as big of a deal as some Spain supporters had feared.

Pedri – 8

An almost typical Pedri performance at this stage, as he helped run the midfield alongside Zubimendi and Merino. He delivered a perfect pass which led to Spain’s opener.

Mikel Merino – 7

He should have continued his goalscoring form for the national team, but aside from that, good performance nonetheless.

Ferran Torres – 6.5

Frustrating evening for the Barcelona forward, who won a penalty in the first half before seeing it saved by Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Mikel Oyarzabal – 7

Oyarzabal should have scored before he did, but his goal in the second half was worth the wait.

Yeremy Pino – 7

Scored Spain’s opening goal of the evening, and overall, did relatively well in the absence of Nico Williams.

Substitutes

Alex Baena – 6

Had a few nice moments during his second half cameo.

Borja Iglesias – 6

Struggled for involvement after replacing Oyarzabal in the 65th minute.

Marcos Llorente – 6

The Atletico Madrid man earned a deserved recall to the national team for this international break, and he did not look out of place during his time on the pitch.

Pablo Barrios – 6

Solid enough on his second cap for La Roja.

Aleix Garcia – 6

Not too involved, but he was only on the pitch for around 10 minutes.
