El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that the RFEF has yet to release prices, sales windows or the purchasing system. The venue was only confirmed in recent days, which has left organisers working against the clock on logistics.

The friendly replaces the planned Finalissima against Argentina, which was cancelled due to armed conflict in the area where it was due to be staged. Spain also face Egypt on 31 March at the RCDE Stadium.

Villarreal beat Real Sociedad 3-1 at Estadio de la Cerámica to open matchday 29, then face a 17-day pause before closing matchday 30 at Girona on 6 April at 21.00. The Montilivi trip is the first of three consecutive away games for Marcelino García’s side. They are not back home until the week of 24 to 27 April, when they host Celta de Vigo.

As is customary, Villarreal receive a compensatory fee for ceding the stadium, while the RFEF runs the event in full and oversees national-team fixtures and competitions. There are no Villarreal players in Spain’s senior squad for this window, though Dani Requena, on loan at Córdoba, features for the under-21s. The 17-day break allows recovery and preparation, but it interrupts momentum after that important win.
