FC Bayern is currently on a summer break and will only resume training in July, shortly after the World Cup, with many young players and without the World Cup players. However, a lot will be happening at the Allianz Arena this summer, including a change of pitch
Among other things, the pitch will be changed, but not out of the blue and not without reason, as there are several concerts taking place at the arena in Munich this summer
The exact plan is to remove the turf beforehand and lay a new one after the series of concerts. FC Bayern wants to ensure that the pitch is in as good a condition as possible for the start of the new season
The exact program in the arena this summer is as follows: Linkin Park will play on 11 and 12 June, the Foo Fighters on 17 June, The Weeknd from 25-27 June and Helene Fischer on 17 July. Work will continue immediately afterwards to lay a new pitch
A positive aspect for FC Bayern is that, as the sole owner of the arena, it will also generate income for the concerts, which is likely to significantly exceed the cost of replacing the turf, which would have been due at some point anyway, meaning that additional income can also be expected here

There is definitely enough time to get the pitch in shape after the events. The first match in the home arena will take place on 15 August as part of the Telekom Cup against RB Leipzig. The new 2026/27 Bundesliga season will then kick off two weeks later. FC Bayern’s opponents there will only be revealed when the DFL officially publishes the fixture list. That will happen in the coming weeks.
