Djed Spence came on for his England debut as the Three Lions dismantled Serbia in their World Cup qualifier.

The Tottenham defender was a second half substitute during the match in Belgrade as Thomas Tuchel’s side put in a five star performance to win 5-0, and extend their advantage at the top of Group K. They are now seven points ahead of second placed Albania.

Spence’s appearance off the bench in the 69th minute also meant he became the first Muslim footballer to play for England.

Richarlison played 60 minutes as Brazil lost their final World Cup qualifier 1-0 to Bolivia, having only 17 touches of the ball during his time on the pitch. Lucas Bergvall was an unused substitute for Sweden who fell to a crushing 2-0 defeat to Kosovo.

Rodrigo Bentancur played the entirety of Uruguay’s goalless draw against Chile as they rounded off their South American World Cup qualifiers. Joao Palhinha was a late second half substitute as Portugal left it late to defeat Hungary and remain top of their World Cup qualifying group.

Ben Davies played the entire match for Wales as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in their friendly against Canada, with Tottenham teammate Brennan Johnson an unused substitute in Cardiff. Elsewhere Kevin Danso came on in the 79th minute in Austria’s 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On Sunday, Pedro Porro played the whole of Spain’s 6-0 thrashing of Turkiye, whilst Micky van de Ven was a second half substitute for the Netherlands as they overcame a scare to beat Lithuania 3-2. Van de Ven entered the game in the 62nd minute, but Xavi Simons was an unused substitute by the Dutch.

Guglielmo Vicario was an unused substitute in Italy’s dramatic late 5-4 win over Israel, whilst Mohammed Kudus played 80 minutes as he helped Ghana to a 1-0 win over Mali in their World Cup qualifier, maintaining top spot in their group.

Pape Matar Sarr scored ten minutes after coming onto the pitch as Senegal narrowly defeats DR Congo 3-2. Sarr was a 77th minute substitute at 2-2, and would subsequently score the winner as Senegal leapfrogged their opponents to go top of their World Cup qualifying group.

Finally, Archie Gray played the entire match for England under-21’s 2-0 win against Kazakhstan, whilst Mathys Tel scored twice for France under-21’s in their 3-0 win over Serbia. Wilson Odobert started for the French but was substituted in the 68th minute.
