Tottenham are considering big-money moves for Cody Gakpo and Savinho as their ambitious summer rebuild gathers pace.

With defence and midfield addressed, Roberto De Zerbi is now turning his attention to the attack, talkSPORT reports. Both wide men have returned to the club’s shortlist.

The spending has already been remarkable. The arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, for a combined £185m, have taken Spurs beyond £200m in a single window.

That outlay marks a dramatic statement of intent after back-to-back seasons of struggle.

Savinho has long been admired at the club. Ben Jacobs, speaking to talkSPORT, described the Manchester City winger as one of Tottenham’s main targets.

Tottenham eye Gakpo and Savinho to complete attacking rebuild

Spurs saw a £60m approach rejected last summer, but sense a fresh opportunity given his limited minutes under Pep Guardiola. Gakpo represents a more proven option.

The Netherlands international’s future at Liverpool has grown uncertain since Andoni Iraola’s arrival, and Tottenham have held talks over a possible deal.

His versatility across the front line appeals greatly to De Zerbi. Neither move will come cheaply, though.

Liverpool have no intention of selling Gakpo to a rival for a modest fee, meaning Spurs would need to pay heavily.

Savinho’s contract runs until 2031, handing City a strong negotiating position. They are not the only forwards under consideration, either.

AC Milan’s Rafael Leão, West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi have all been linked as De Zerbi seeks quality and depth in the final third.

The scale of the overhaul reflects lessons learned. Spurs survived relegation only on the final day, and the message from the leadership has been clear: never again.

De Zerbi has been backed accordingly. A new left-sided forward now appears the priority.

With his squad taking shape, De Zerbi will hope to add the attacking spark needed to push Tottenham back towards the European places.
