Radu Dragusin made his return to action for Tottenham in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday.

The defender played 45 minutes against Leyton Orient, in what were his first minutes since suffering an ACL injury at the start of the year.

Dragusin has returned to first-team training in recent weeks but Spurs have been cautious with his recovery after so long out.

It is expected that Dragusin will join up with Romania for a small period during the international break to train with the squad, but he will not play any part in their two World Cup qualifiers.

Dragusin will then return to Hotspur Way ahead of Spurs' return to action against Arsenal on November 23.

Although Dragusin has been fit enough to take part in training for a number of weeks, Spurs' relentless fixture schedule has limited his opportunities to feature alongside his team-mates.

With matches every few days, there have been fewer sessions for Thomas Frank's squad and so the opportunity for Dragusin to participate in some training with Romania is seen as a beneficial one for both parties.

Dragusin will hope to make his return to the first-team squad soon after the international break, but he will have to wait for any involvement in the Champions League.

The defender was left out of the Spurs squad for the league phase of the competition and so is not eligible to feature in the team's next four matches, starting with a trip to Paris Saint-Germain.

Should Spurs progress, they would be able to make changes to their squad and include Dragusin for the knockout stages.
