Celtic face St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup Final on Sunday. The Scottish Champions beat Rangers to secure their place in the showpiece final while Stephen Robinson’s Paisley outfit thrashed Motherwell the night before.
Wilfried Nancy had admitted that he has listened to the squad about the speed of changes after two defeats against Hearts and Roma. The Frenchman will be hoping that he can get a first Celtic win and a first piece of silverware to kickoff his tenure at Celtic.
Celtic go into the game with a number of players currently out injured. Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand remain out with longterm injuries. James Forrest is back in training after missing Celtic’s last six games.
Sebastian Tounekti and Mikel-Ange Balikwisha are available before leaving for the AFCON. Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has not been called up, which is to Celtic’s benefit as he showed promise after coming on at half time in the defeat at the weekend.
It remains to be seen whether the manager makes changes after Thursday night, there were two notable improvements in the second half with Iheanacho and Bernardo both showing positives signs.
Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals. Expect a back three to continue with Auston Trusty continuing with potentially Kieran Tierney and Colby Donovan either side of the USA Internationalist.

Daizen Maeda may move to the left side but Tounetki might be retained. Yang could start out right with a midfield duo of Callum McGregor and Arne Engels. Expect Reo Hatate and Paulo Bernardo to start behind Kelechi Iheanacho.

Kelechi Iheanacho of Celtic scores his team a goal as Mile Svilar of AS Roma fails to make a save, which is disallowed following a VAR review during the UEFA Europa League 2025/26 League Phase MD6 match between Celtic FC and AS Roma at Celtic Park on December 11, 2025.
