FC St. Pauli have dismissed head coach Alexander Blessin following relegation from the Bundesliga, with the move coming after an internal review of the 2025/26 season.
Sporting director Andreas Bornemann thanked Blessin for his committed work over the past two years.

He said Blessin adjusted the side for the top flight after promotion and helped ensure they stayed up in their first season.
Bornemann stressed that Blessin’s coaching qualities are not in doubt.
He added that, after the review, the club concluded it was right to part company and make a fresh start this summer with everyone on board.
