The impeachment bid against Corinthians president Osmar Stabile has advanced, and he has 10 business days to present his defence.
According to Meu Timao, acting Deliberative Council president Leonardo Pantaleão set the deadline after receiving a response from the Ethics and Discipline Commission.
Under the Statute, the Commission will issue an opinion to the Council after Stabile’s submission, then, if councillors back continuation, a General Assembly will decide. His mandate runs until December 2026.
Filed in April by a group of councillors, associates and former directors, the petition alleges breaches of the Statute, the General Sports Law and governance rules.
A central claim targets the deal with the Attorney General of the National Treasury to restructure debt of R$ 1.2 billion. The petition says Parque São Jorge was pledged as collateral valued at R$ 602.2 million without required approvals, encumbering the asset and risking execution.
It also references a remark attributed to Stabile about Parque São Jorge becoming blocks of flats if his administration failed. Other grievances cite unanswered requests on Neo Química Arena maintenance, the FII Arena administrator change, ticketing, armed security and the Censo Timão, plus alleged ghost employees.
The authors criticise delayed financial disclosures, saying the last statement online is from November 2025, though the club has resumed publishing. After the Ethics Commission’s analysis, the Council will decide whether to proceed, and if impeachment is approved members will make the final call, with second vice-president Armando Mendonça taking over in that scenario.
