Max O'Leary set the tone in the 26th minute with a sharp save, underpinning West Bromwich Albion's 0-0 draw at Birmingham City.
His first big intervention came from a tight angle, getting a firm hand to Bright Osayi-Samuel's drive (26.) that was arrowing towards the top corner.
He stayed alert soon after, tipping away Ibrahim Osman's effort from the left side of the box (31.). After the restart he sprang right to turn aside Marvin Ducksch's curler from distance (71.).
The goalkeeper finished with three saves, plus one high claim and a punch, as Birmingham produced 16 attempts and five on target with 59.4% of the ball. His handling cut pressure at source when the hosts pushed men forward.
With Birmingham firing in 28 crosses and 11 corners, his positioning and decisiveness on aerial balls stopped second phases building, allowing West Bromwich Albion to reset and see the job through.
West Bromwich Albion move up from 20th to 19th in the Championship. Birmingham remain 10th. Next up, West Bromwich Albion visit Norwich City in the FA Cup, while Birmingham host Leeds United in the same competition.
How high would you rate O'Leary's performance tonight?
