Roni struck in the 23rd minute to open the scoring, setting AVS on their way to a 3-1 win over Porto.

The Brazilian midfielder timed his run off a corner and guided a left-footed effort from the centre of the box into the middle of the net. It set the tone for a night where his timing and shot selection mattered most.

After the restart he restored the lead with a right-footed drive from outside the box to the bottom right (58.), finishing a pass from Guilherme Neiva that invited the strike from range.
