Pedro opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a low right-footed finish, setting Flamengo on course to a 2-0 win over Cruzeiro.
The Brazilian striker found space in the centre and slotted into the bottom left (5.), giving Fla an early platform and pinning the visitors deep.
Moments later he combined neatly, laying the ball for Giorgian de Arrascaeta to shoot, a chance that was blocked (6.). After the restart he stayed lively, forcing Raposa goalkeeper Matheus Cunha into a low save from range (84.).
He finished with two attempts, both on target, plus five touches in the box and six possessions won, a tidy blend of penalty-area threat and graft that kept Zeiro's back line occupied throughout.
Because his movement between the centre-backs created constant passing lanes, Mengão could play into him early, and his lay-offs drew runners on the second line to sustain pressure.
Fla rise from 13th to 4th in the table. They visit Botafogo next. Zeiro remain 19th and host Vasco da Gama next.
How high would you rate Pedro's performance tonight?
