The Mane legacy is also continuing in the Premier League. Right now, there's another Mane following in his footsteps. His name is Mateus Mane, who has started to set the league alight with his performances for Wolves recently.

Mateus is only 18-years-old, and like Sadio he plays on the left-wing.

He scored his first Premier League goal against West Ham United and then followed that up by scoring against Everton as well, a club who Sadio very much enjoyed scoring against as well.

Mane is a player Liverpool are also reportedly interested in. That's according to journalist Dean Jones talking on TEAMtalk:

“One thing that is catching my eye is Mateus Mane at Wolves. I know it’s not going to be in this transfer window, but there is no way that Wolves go into next season without an intense battle," he said.

“Liverpool are the club I’ve heard about, I think that’s because the representative he’s with already have a few players at Liverpool, but he’s going to be hard, if not impossible, to hold onto, isn’t he?”

Mane is represented by Enhance, an agency that only has four other clients according to Transfermarkt and three of them play for Liverpool:

Wellity Lucky, Kieran Morrison and Fola Onanuga.

So, it's clear that they have strong connections with Liverpool clearing the way for the Reds to make a move and giving Richard Hughes a massive advantage.

But there's another recent activity by Mateus himself that has opened the door for the club to sign him.

On his TikTok account (@mateusmane123) he reposted this video likening his goal against Everton to Mane's against Bournemouth at Anfield back in the 2019/20 season.

That should be another massive advantage in Liverpool's favour. Clearly Mateus enjoys the comparisons to his namesake and on top of that he's a brilliant player as well.

At senior level for Wolves, taking into account his EFL Trophy performances as well, Mane has averaged 0.64 goal contributions per 90 minutes.

In that time he averaged 5.85 dribbles per 90 minutes and completed 53% of his attempts.

He is a player who has excellent movement off the ball, and is blessed with an incredible technical skill. Mane's football IQ, the way he receives the ball and his first touch are all already elite.

At 18-years-old he is a very special talent. Someone who could play as a left-winger but also as a no.10, which means he belongs to Anfield.
