Looking completely bereft of confidence, Mbappé stumbled his way through proceedings, struggling with everything from his dribbing to passing, surrendering possession to Liverpool time and time again.

Not only that, but the 25-year-old missed a crucial spot-kick, which would have drawn his side level at a pivotal point during the 2nd-half.

Instead, Real Madrid were condemned to an eventual 2-0 defeat.
